Kanye’s protein-catcher was as stylish as ever.

The effect that they had was cool, and the fireworks and cameos were all nice. Decent vidjo, I liked it.Â I know it probably cost him the advance for his next whole record to get Chris to appear in the video, shoot. Unlike hip-hop artists, you can’t get the frontman of Coldplay for a pack of Swisher Sweets, 3 jugs of Sweet Tea and access to a 24/7, 365 hair-braider for 6 months.

YOU Can Be Pen Pals With Remy Ma!

In the latest attempt at proving her nignorance, Remy Ma (or her assorted weed and yaki carriers) have hacked into her Myspace and are asking for ~~offerings in exchange for prayer cloths and bottles of Henn~~ fan mail & letters of support. Sweet Minty Jesus be a ballpoint pen and some college ruled paper for PS 125!

This could be the most important stack of fan mail Remy Ma ever gets.

The troubled rap star – now facing up to 25 years behind bars for shooting an ex-pal – is begging admirers to send nice letters about her in the hope of getting a shorter sentence.

“Please write letters about how Remy and her music has positively affected you, influenced you, inspired you, etc.,” says a note on the Bronx rapper’s MySpace page. “In hopes that the judge will be lenient in Remy’s upcoming sentencing.”

The note was posted to the site, along with an e-mail address lettersforremy@gmail.com.

“Thank you for all your support,” concludes the message, which appears next to a picture of the bad-girl rhymer flashing hand signs.

A Manhattan jury on Thursday convicted Remy, whose real name is Remy Smith, of first-degree assault and weapons charges for blasting Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the gut last summer in a beef over a missing $3,000. (Source)

Can I write a letter to her judge asking for her to keep her in long enough to learn a cotdang lesson!? I mean, really.

So because Remy Ma has dropped a hot 16 or two, has given away some free turkeys, and done some “talks” at a public school or two, that means we should help her avoid a sentence she rightly deserves?!

FAIL.

Ole girl thought she was brolic and pulled a gun, ish went wrong, and someone was HURT. You do the crime, you do the time.

She felt froggy, she lept, and she landed in a dry puddle LOL. Let her flop around in her mess for a minute — bet she won’t do it again. Now, I’m not saying we need to lock her up forever, but she definitely needs to learn a lesson!

Oh and did I mention she’s marrying Papoose? Right. Together they will go double zirconium!

Raise your hand if you think A) Papoose is going to put out an album soon, B) think Remy is pregnant, C) Kay Slay threatened to leak him and Papoose’s sextape, D) think Remy & Pap are trying to get a reality show, E) Remy Ma is arranging ish to make us think she doesn’t (and won’t) eat the box, or F) all of the above.

Chris Cornell + Timbaland = ???

OK, now, I know some of ya’ll might not even KNOW who Chris Cornell is, but regardless, he is one of my favorite vocalists in ANY genre, hands down.

So I immediately laid prostrate in fear of my ears upon reading this gem tucked at the bottom of an article about David Cook’s blatant rip-off of Chris Cornell’s “Billie Jean” cover.

In other news, Cornell is working on his next solo album with superstar producer Timbaland, but declined to reveal further details other than to say, “it’s going fantastic.”

WHAT?!

No.

I’m not sure if I like the look of this. Especially after that new Madonna song, “4 Minutes”.

Madonna and Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and Timbaland, Justin and Timbaland…sure. OK. It makes sense. Pop perfection! But Chris Cornell is a rock vocalist, and a dang good one AT THAT. One of the best. Audioslave’s 1st album stays in my rotation. So the fact that Timbaland is threatening to digitize his voice is scaring me more than the idea of Unsweetened Halitosis Devil coming for my soul.

I need to consult my Magic 8-Ball on this one! “Will Mos Def ever get that Will Smith money?” *8-Ball explodes*

Rapper/actor Mos Def will play legendary rock’n'roller Chuck Berry in “Cadillac Records,” which is filming in New Jersey. Beyonce is starring as Etta James in the film, which chronicles the rise of legendary label Chess Records.

“Cadillac Records” also featured such characters as Chess co-founder Leonard Chess (Adrien Brody) and the label’s artists, including Muddy Waters (Jeffrey Wright), Little Walter (Columbus Short), Howlin’ Wolf (Eamonn Walker) and Willie Dixon (Cedric the Entertainer). (Source)

LOL, well, I’m going to guess…probably NOT.

Dude doesn’t even really resemble Chuck Berry. That’s like…casting Akon to play Lionel Richie in the “Commodores: Bringing Out The Funk!” tv movie (and yes, I just made that up, there is no Commodores movie). I think someone told me Mos plays instruments though, so he must have done something right.

I guess, I’m still befuddled as to why they are still casting parts for a film that is already FILIMING. I’m ignorant about those things, but it seems off. Beyahweh and King Mathew need to get it together over at Castle Creole’ because….something in the script ain’t clean.

But then again they casted Bee as Etta James…and I’m not sure how that is going to turn out. What, Nicole Ari Parker wasn’t available? Beyonce’ will need to gargle with Pepsi for 6 months and sit around Jay’s weed smoke for at least the same length of time to get that Etta sound. Beyonce’ will never beat Angel Lola Luv though in the “Race for the Oscar.” At least Angel isn’t essentially playing herself in her movies!

I Don’t Think Beanie’s Mom Held Him Enough.

Rap star Beanie Sigel has returned to prison.A federal judge in Philadelphia sentenced Sigel to three months in prison Friday after authorities say he gave a false urine sample to probation officials.

Officials also say the rapper tested positive five times this month for Xanax and Percocet.

Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was already serving a six-month term in a halfway house for having previously violated supervised release.

Sigel told the judge he was an addict and had a relapse when he was sent to the halfway house.

In 2004, U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick sentenced Sigel to a year in prison and two years of supervised release after Sigel pleaded guilty to weapons and drug charges.

He was acquitted in September 2005 of attempted-murder charges in connection with a shooting. (Source)

Michelle Williams – “We Break The Dawn”

Hmmm, this is interesting.

I’m noticing a trend…Kelly Rowland’s “Daylight”. Michelle’s “Break The Dawn”. Oh and Paula’s “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow”. All these chicks do NOT be shutting down the clubs like that do they?

This song is pleasant, but for them to have been building up anticipation (LOL, right?) for it like Beyahweh herself had blessed it was a bit much. I mean, God bless Michelle, girl is a killer vocalist. Mostly sounds better when she’s doing backgrounds. I find her voice at times to be a bleaty/nasal mix that too me doesn’t have a lot of fullness. This song shows that EXACTLY. The music is nice, but not nearly “enough” to make it a club joint. The words are not engaging and interesting enough. Overall, it’s OK.

I think she’s going to suffer from KelRowItis as well. I can’t see this song grabbing anyone’s attention for more than the fact that “LOOK! MICHELLE FROM DESTINY’S CHILD HAS A NEW SONG! AND IT’S NOT GOSPEL! *GASP*” and then pretty much moving on. Yeah.

Lastly, on that promo pic from her Myspace — she looks good, but I am mad at her HOD Freakum Skirt. It looks like she borrowed it out of the “dare to be different!” section of Solange’s closet. Just say no to cooch shots!

RIP Sean Levert

OK, we were JUST talking about him! Poor Eddie…two sons in two years…I couldn’t even imagine!

R&B singer Sean Levert, younger brother of the late Gerald Levert, died Sunday night at Lutheran Hospital. The 39-year-old was taken to Lutheran from the Cuyahoga County Jail and died there at 11:57 p.m. Sunday, a coroner’s spokesman said.

Sean Levert was at the jail because he was found guilty last Monday of not paying child support. The Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court sentenced him to 22 months in prison and three years of probation. He was also declared indigent.

Cuyahoga County Jail Warden Kevin McDonough said Levert suddenly became ill last night. He had been at the jail for a week. Early last week, Levert had “some psych issues, but was normal lately,” McDonough said. He was not considered suicidal. (Source)

That’s sad. Prayers go out to his family and friends…

Not to be crass, but…wow…I wonder what that baby momma gonna do now. YOU KNOW she had just been thinking “I’m finally bout to get paid!” Now she going to have to go back to Wal-Mart *smh*.

PETA Wants To Pay Re-Re’s Taxes

Aretha has been wearing fur for YEARS.

HOW ABOUT THEY PAY FOR A GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY? I love Auntie Ree but instead of worrying about some dang animals that are dead, how about we make a case for something more important like her LIFE. PETA can really go take a flying leap off of a flying hamburger stand!

These mofos wrote her a letter telling her they’d pay her $19K in back taxes if she’ll stop wearing furs! Why they got $20K laying around!?

Dear Ms. Franklin,
I am writing regarding the pending foreclosure of your home. We would like to help you out by paying the approximately $19,000 in back taxes that you owe-if you’ll agree to save animals from hideous suffering and death by promising never to wear fur again and donating your old furs to PETA. We are absolutely sincere in making this offer-we believe that you know in your heart that your fans will love you even more if you make a fur-free resolution.

As you no doubt now realize, animals who are trapped in the wild can suffer for days before dying from exposure, frostbite, shock, or infection or by being strangled, stomped, or bludgeoned to death by trappers. Animals on fur farms are confined to tiny, filthy cages where they often go insane before they are gassed, poisoned, or electrocuted or have their necks broken. These crude killing methods aren’t always effective, and sometimes animals are skinned alive.

Our offer is a win-win situation: You get to keep your home, and animals get to keep their lives. We are rooting for you to please give animals the R-E-S-P-E-C-T that they deserve by giving up fur. (Source)

Sure, the animals are being treated cruelly, but I think PETA just does TOO much. Do her fans really care either way?! I think the minority is so small that it wouldn’t even make that much of a difference to Ree-Ree’s Fried Chicken Fund if she didn’t take the offer. They better not try this on MJB…she will go “Real Love” on them and slice up someone’s face. Real talk.

Is she hurting for $$? I don’t ever hear about Aretha worrying for money, but you never know these days. She can’t do a quick casino run in Atlantic City at Harrah’s, singing some old joints for $150 bucks a ticket and hit up the buffets? Wait, nix that buffet, we are trying to SAVE money.

Now, if PETA wants to really do some damage, they should joint with KFC and ban her from chicken joints. HEADS WOULD ROLL!

All jokes aside, Aretha still has the ~~pork~~ vocal chops…unlike some “stars” of today.

I lol’ed at this…

Tony Yayo’s smeared makeup is hilarious and so is his “I miss jail” tattoo. And isn’t that 50 Cent’s GQ cover shoot when he had on the fur!? I knew that would come back to haunt him. That photo shoot was…geigh-ish will say, no if, and’s or buts (pause) about it.

Fat Joe is going hard (pause)…this is all kind of silly though to me…but whatever. I guess it gives these mofo’s something to do while they wait for their royalty checks.

Does anyone even CARE about the mixtape though? LOL!!
